PhD Student, Penn Nursing
Sang Bin You, MSN, RN, is a PhD student at Penn Nursing, and she is passionate about enhancing transitional care and patient outcomes among aging sepsis survivors with ICU histories. Her current research involves analyzing the outcomes of older sepsis survivors receiving home health care following acute care hospitalization. Specifically, she compares the outcomes of those discharged home to self-care, examining their 30-day readmission rates using the publicly available Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC) database.
With a focus on utilizing machine learning techniques and natural language processing, Sang Bin aims to elevate the quality of care in post-acute settings, thereby reducing hospital and emergency department readmissions. Her clinical experience in critical care at a large academic hospital in Korea informs her research pursuits. Sang Bin obtained her MSN and BSN degrees from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.
