This year’s PLAC conference will coalesce thought leaders from throughout the greater Latin America region with faculty at Penn in discussions around governmental and regional public health responses to emergent threats in Latin America. Recognizing that such threats encompass both communicable and non-communicable disease, the conference will be organized with two major sessions – one focused on responses to Zika Virus and the second on the explosive growth of metabolic disease and diabetes.
